I'm a 32 year old mother of a 13 year old boy. He doesn't live with me. I gave custody of him to my parents when he was 4 because I had a lot of problems at the time. He is still the most important person in my life, even though I don't get to see him as often as I would like. I am almost divorced...there is less than a month left of the waiting period, then we go to court. Even though things did not work out between us, I still consider him a friend, and I believe we are both equally to blame for the problems we had. I am living with the love of my life, with no desire to get remarried anytime soon. I love him enough to consider it when we get to that crossroad, but for now I'm perfectly happy just being with him (even though he can be a stubborn ass sometimes). I am currently taking medical transcription classes. I should be finished within the next 6-8 months (that's my goal, anyway). I'm enjoying the classes so far and I have a 98% total grade right now. I decided on this as my career choice because I have Fibromyalgia and it's a job I can do from home, even if I'm having a bad day as far as pain goes. The fact that it's a good paying job was only a bonus. I like to do crafts, especially plastic canvas work. I also enjoy drawing, writing, watching movies, reading and singing. I love all kinds of music (although there are a few bands out there that I just can't stand) and I sing along with almost every song on the radio. I don't actually have much talent in this area, but it makes me feel good. Some of my favorite artists are Joss Stone, John Mayer, Jewel, Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20), and the new American Idol David Cook. I am a horror movie junkie. The gorier it is, the more I like it. I also like movies that are sick and twisted. Stephen King is my favorite author. The Dark Tower is my favorite series of books. I also enjoy watching cartoons and Food Network. I'm a geek and I'm proud of this fact. I fancy myself a digital artist, but I know I'm not that great yet. Check out my icons if you want to see a sampling of my art (there used to be a lot more of them, but I don't have a paid account anymore and I can't afford one at the moment). (This rule does not apply to you if I've made an icon specifically for you.) I also have a deviantart account (jeweled-lily), although I don't update it very often. It is mostly my drawings, rather than my digital art. I'm short and sweet (most of the time) and I tend to want to get right to the point, even though sometimes my mouth wanders away and rambles about everything in between. I don't like being interrupted, or lied to. Constructive criticism is great, but don't be an asshole. There's really no need for it. My biggest wish for this world is that everyone would just learn to be nice to each other. So you know, I don't make a lot of public posts. This means that if you don't see your name on my friends of list, you probably won't get to read the juicy stuff. It's nothing against you personally, I just don't need my family reading my personal thoughts...especially when I'm pissed off at them. If you want to add me as a friend, that's fine.
